MX-ONE TSW sales extended

Aastra recently announced that MX-ONE Telephony Switch (also known as BC13) sales will continue for the foreseeable future; however no formal dates have been confirmed. This will allow existing customers to add new equipment to existing systems for this time (please note there are limitations imposed on ordering Add-on equipment due to the legislative requirements of ‘The Restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment’ (RoHS)). Damovo is pleased with this decision as it demonstrates a positive stance from Aastra - changing previously planned phase-outs to accommodate the customer’s view.

Revision to MX-ONE V3.2 – expected September 2008

Unfortunately, the planned release of MX-ONE Telephony Server V3.2 did not take place in June as expected. We have been advised by Aastra that this will now happen in September 2008 and on this basis Damovo expect to be in a position to start shipping this product shortly after. MX-ONE Telephony Server V3.2 includes the following items:

  • T.38 Fax support – enables fax calls to transverse IPLU Inter-Lim traffic
  • Dual Mode Handler – enables seamless handover between GSM and WiFi in dual mode handsets (calls must go through MX-ONE initially, similar to the Mobile Extension function)
  • Manager Provisioning – a management platform for Moves, Adds and Changes (replacing Extension Manager). This product will interface with Aastra CMG and MX-ONE Messaging products etc
  • IP-DECT – IP base stations will be available via LAN/WAN, supporting DECT handsets
  • Improved Redundancy scenarios
