Aastra plans launch of MX-ONE V4 (December 09)
New functionality for MX-ONE V4:
- Increased SIP functionality for 675Xi phones – for example MNS keys, Common Hold
- New Business, Standard and Basic models of the DBC54xx range to complement the DBC5446 (renamed 74xx range now)
- New small 19" build practice (Compact –SMH) designed for small remote locations. Includes new Media Gateway Unit
- Maxi-Server concept – One Server can support multi-gateways (older style LIMs or 19" practice etc)*
- 10 Digit numbering Plan
- Home and visitor locator records. Allows IP user to “re-home” to an alternative gatekeeper
- New Embedded Server Unit with Dual Hard Drive + RAID
- NOTE: MX-ONE V4 does not support DNA, therefore an upgrade to CMG (Contact Management Group) platform is required

In recent months, Extreme Networks has been busy expanding their strategic partnerships with three key announcements with recognised industry leaders.
Extreme’s Summit X450a switches have been tested and certified to inter work with Dells' EqualLogic iSCSI to meet the demands of the modern enterprise data centre. Motorola’s Enterprise Mobility Solutions and Extreme have partnered for wireless LAN to integrate wired and wireless connectivity. Both announcements feature the common themes of high performance and cost effectiveness. Motorola also bring their expertise with wireless security to the partnership, and this is complemented by Extreme’s third recent partnership with McAfee, who contribute a broad range of security products that address host security, network intrusion detection and prevention, firewall, and data leakage security requirements.
